High Country Lodge provides a great starting place for hiking and backpacking in the Madawaska and Algonquin Park Area.

Hikers and backpackers will delight in the quiet seclusion of Eastern Ontario's quiet outdoors. Tie on your sleeping bag and fishing pole and enjoy a night under the stars.

Our area has abundant wildlife - Elk, Moose and Deer are commonly seen near High Country Lodge. Spring and early summer are decorated with brilliant white, yellow and blue wildflowers. Be sure to bring a camera!

Trout fishing is abundant in the Madawaska area, so you may want to take a fishing rod on your mountain hike.

High Country Lodge Lodge also provides custom pack trips and drop camps to transport hikers by horseback
